On July 19, our Chairman of the Board, Bayram Tekçe, met with the members of the Construction and Furniture Sector of the Anatolian Lions Businessmen Association (ASKON) and answered questions about real estate sales to international investors.
During the event held at ASKON’s headquarters, Mr. Tekçe shared GİGDER’s goals to increase international real estate investments in Turkey. He also delivered a comprehensive speech addressing the expectations of real estate professionals operating in international sales, emphasizing the importance of voicing these expectations more strongly both domestically and on global platforms, and underlining the need for sustainability in real estate exports.

Bayram Tekçe shared his views on the importance of distinguishing between investors and refugees, highlighting the necessity of investor-friendly visa programs. He pointed out that while Turkey’s share in global real estate investments is declining, Turkish citizens’ real estate purchases abroad are increasing. Tekçe emphasized that with proper legal regulations, real estate exports could evolve into a second tourism sector.
Commenting on the high housing prices in Turkey and their link to land share ratios, Tekçe stated:
“When we look at Turkey and other countries around the world, land costs in construction projects typically make up about 25%. In land-share (revenue-sharing) projects, this rate can reach 50%, making it much more logical to purchase land and develop the project independently. Providing financing to developers for land acquisition can help lower housing prices overall.”
Also speaking at the event, ASKON Construction and Furniture Sector Board President Abdulkadir Akkuş emphasized that ASKON attaches great importance to supporting domestic production and sectoral exports. He stated that they value collaborations aimed at increasing the global visibility of the construction and real estate sectors and expressed his belief that the developing relationship with GİGDER will lead to new opportunities and projects.

Throughout the event, industry representatives exchanged ideas, answered members’ questions in detail, and discussed potential areas for collaboration.
The program concluded with ASKON Vice President Coşkun Alay and ASKON Construction and Furniture Sector Board President Abdulkadir Akkuş presenting a commemorative gift to our Chairman Bayram Tekçe, followed by a group photo session.
